Dreaming In Black & White
I find peace and solace at the beach. I don't even have to go in the water or sit in the sun. Just the sound of the waves calms me while the smell of the salt invigorates me. I've never had more peaceful sleep than when sung the lullaby of the ocean by Mother Earth.
This time of year, I develop an especially potent longing for the ocean.
February is the bleakest month. It is no coincidence that it is the shortest month of the year. Any longer and scores would Cobain themselves past this Earthly darkness into the infinite abyss.
This week's phlog has some black and white shots taken with my Bronica medium format camera when my wife and I went to Topsail Island for a week's vacation. These memories will have to hold me for about a month until I respond to the siren's call with a long weekend visit. I'll be sure to do a new photo essay when I return from that recharging of my soul.
